A Juleen Mystery

Naive, twenty-four year-old new bride, Juleen has just arrived at Toronto International Airport from New Delhi. She is eager for her husband, Navraj, by arranged marriage, to greet her and take her to her new home and new life, with him.

She waits and waits, but he never shows.

Juleen is certain something must have happened to him or he would have come for her. She trusts him, because she trusts her loving family who had arranged her marriage to a good and honest man. She cannot doubt them–it would be betrayal.

Juleen is grateful to the nice Canadian/Punjabi police officer she meets at the airport who directs her to her new home and hopefully her missing husband. Home at last,

Juleen opens the front door to find the body of a murdered woman, but still no husband.

Frightened and alone in a new country, and dogged by her own demons and growing prescription drug dependency, Juleen is befriended by a neighbor with intriguing secrets of her own. With her neighbor’s help, Juleen sets out to find Navraj and clear his name, since the police and media have already labeled him a murderer. When Juleen finally unravels the murder, she discovers something more dark and cruel than anything she could’ve imagined about her trustworthy husband and about herself…
